With the Fukushima Innovation Coast Initiative to restore the industry in Hamadori, Fukushima Prefecture, which was lost due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and the nuclear disaster, the Fukushima Innovation Coast Initiative Promotion Organization has begun to solicit projects from universities nationwide.The knowledge possessed by universities will be gathered on Hamadori to integrate the decommissioning of nuclear power plants, robots, and the energy industry.

 According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the open recruitment period is from 21st to June 6th, and the target is universities, junior colleges, and colleges of technology.The amount of subsidy for the selected projects is planned to be 7 million yen or less per project.

■ Student education programs implemented in collaboration with each municipality in Hamadori, such as Iwaki City, Minamisoma City, and Iitate Village.
■ Efforts for industrial promotion and human resource development to be implemented locally in collaboration with the municipalities of Hamadori
■ Efforts such as environmental recovery, health management, risk communication, and revitalization of local communities, which are carried out locally in cooperation with the municipalities of Hamadori for recovery from the nuclear disaster.
The condition is that one of the following applies.

 The Fukushima Innovation Coast Initiative aims to consolidate industries such as decommissioning and robots in 15 municipalities on Hamadori, and to recover from the earthquake, develop human resources, and expand the exchange population.
