Hokkaido University's "Hokkaido Summer Institute 2023", which invites researchers who are active on the front lines of the world to Hokkaido to give classes, has decided on the subjects to be offered, and has started accepting applications from March 3th. A total of 6 subjects are planned for the five months from June to October.
According to Hokkaido University, Summer Institute 2023 will mainly consist of Advanced Research Courses for students, Global Liberal Arts Courses, Professional Programs in English and Professional Programs in Japanese for recurrent education mainly for adults. Classified into 4 courses.
Among these courses, advanced courses are taught by world-renowned researchers on themes that have emerged as major issues in modern society, such as decarbonized societies, climate change, infectious diseases, diversity, and entrepreneurship.There are also active learning classes and fieldwork set in various parts of Hokkaido, and more than 4 researchers participate in the four courses.
The Summer Institute was launched in 2016 based on the Hokkaido University Near Future Strategy and has been held every year.Until now, classes were only for Hokkaido University students, but they will be open to overseas students and working adults who wish to re-learn.The application period is from March 3th to 6th.Applications are accepted on the Hokkaido University website.
