Chiba University has awarded the title of Special Honorary Professor to Makoto Fujita, a former assistant professor of engineering at Chiba University, who received the Wolf Award, which is world-renowned in research in the field of organic chemistry.This is the first time that the title of Special Honorary Professor has been awarded.

 After graduating from the Graduate School of Engineering at Chiba University in 1982, Professor Fujita worked as a researcher at the Sagami Central Chemical Research Institute, and has been an assistant professor and assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Chiba University since 1988.Currently, he is a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo.

 His specialty is organic chemistry. Starting with receiving the Synthetic Organic Chemistry Encouragement Award in 1994, he has received the Chemical Society of Japan Academic Award, the 7th Leo Esaki Prize, the Thomson Reuters 3rd Research Front Award, and the Medal with Purple Ribbon.
