In recent years, "eSports" has been rapidly gaining attention.An abbreviation for electronic sports, which captures competition using computer games as a sports competition.In the future, as this eSports develops as a sports industry, new companies will enter, professional teams will be established, large-scale events will be held, transparency of teams and tournament managers will be ensured, cooperation with overseas organizations, etc. It is indispensable to develop human resources who will be responsible for management.
Therefore, KPMG Consulting will develop an educational curriculum to develop management human resources related to eSports, and as part of this, a donated course "eSports Theory" will be offered at Keio University SFC.It will be held 2018 times in the fall semester of 2018 (September 9-March 2019).The target is about 3 to 14 Keio University students.
In "eSports Theory", lectures will be given on the theme of fusion of advanced technologies such as "Data Analytics" and "AR (Augmented Reality) / VR (Virtual Reality) / MR (Mixed Reality)" of KPMG Consulting and eSports competition.Research themes include "sports industry and eSports," "game content and entertainment industry and eSports," "event sponsorship and eSports," and "mass media, communication, fan players, and eSports."In addition, we aim to create a new eSports competition unique to Japan while conducting the latest situation and case studies of eSports in the United States, Europe, and Asia, and creating case studies.
