Chiba University of Commerce aims to become a “100% natural energy university” by generating renewable energy equivalent to the total energy consumption of the campus, including electricity and gas. This time, we reported on the achievement status and initiatives for FY2022.

Renewable energy rate is the value obtained by dividing the amount of energy created by the amount of energy consumed (rounded down to the second decimal place). One of the goals of Chiba University of Commerce is to achieve a “100% natural energy rate for power consumption,” which equals the amount of power generated by the Chiba University of Commerce Mega Solar Noda Power Plant* and the amount of power consumed on campus. Achieved. It achieved 2019% in the most recent year from April 2022 to March 4.

In addition to these efforts, in 2022 we will publish a book summarizing our research activities and research results from 2017 to 2021.In addition, it was the only Japanese university to win the "International Green Gown Awards 2022", which is given to the ideas of universities around the world to realize an excellent sustainable society. Not only at the university, but also student-led activities are active, and the student group "SONE (Student Organization for Achievement of Natural Energy)", which works to spread awareness of energy conservation and global warming prevention activities from the student's perspective, will hold energy conservation awareness events and energy conservation lectures. We actively worked to become a 100% natural energy university.

Chiba University of Commerce will continue to aim to become a “100% natural energy university” and will continue to make efforts to save energy and create energy in order to realize a decarbonized society.
