A Josai University student created a video to raise awareness about separating waste such as lithium-ion batteries at the request of a local government.

　Josai University Faculty of Business Administration created an enlightenment video about sorting garbage such as lithium-ion batteries used in smartphones and electric shavers.It was requested by the local city of Sakado, and the two best films, "for adults" and "for children," have been published on the city's official YouTube channel.

　Fires caused by lithium-ion batteries, etc., have occurred frequently at garbage disposal facilities of municipalities nationwide, and in Sakado City, fire accidents at non-burnable garbage facilities are increasing.For this reason, in December 2021, the city started separate collection of lithium-ion batteries and other items as a model project for the Ministry of the Environment.However, in response to the slow progress in raising awareness among residents, the company decided to ask young students from Josai University, with which it has a comprehensive partnership agreement, to create an educational video.

　The video was created by a seminar led by Associate Professor Takashi Shida of the Faculty of Business Administration, who specializes in environmental management.About 40 seminar students were divided into groups of 3 to 4 people, and worked on creating videos, such as images of the fire accident at the city's treatment facility and images of the sorting list provided by the city.

　Each video is about 1 minutes.
