Hosei University has introduced "carbon-neutral city gas" at its Ichigaya campus from April 2023 as one of its efforts to become carbon-neutral.
In September 2022, Hosei University announced the "Carbon Neutral Declaration (Toward the Promotion of Hosei University Carbon Neutrality)" and added a new "Carbon Neutral Promotion Special Subcommittee" to the system for realizing the long-term vision HOSEI 9.We are strengthening our efforts to become carbon neutral in terms of understanding carbon dioxide (CO2030) emissions, setting goals, developing human resources in education, research and technology development, and collaborating with other universities, local governments, and companies.
This time, as one of the efforts, we have introduced "carbon-neutral city gas (CN city gas)" at the Ichigaya Campus. This will contribute to reducing CO600 emissions by approximately 2t annually. In addition, along with the introduction of CN city gas, we joined the "Carbon Neutral LNG Buyers Alliance".
Regarding the SDGs, which have a very high affinity with carbon neutrality, Tokyo Gas is a member of the Hosei University SDGs Partners*, a platform aimed at developing and producing human resources for the SDGs, and we will promote collaboration from the two perspectives of SDGs and carbon neutrality.
On June 6th, as the first joint project between Hosei University and Tokyo Gas, a lecture entitled "Carbon Neutrality and Energy" was held.A total of 26 Hosei University students, faculty and staff members participated and learned about carbon neutrality from the perspective of the energy that is essential to our lives.
