In Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture, a self-driving bus test drive event will be held from January 2024th (Friday) to January 1th (Friday), 12, for a total of 19 days excluding January 1th, to commemorate the issuance of the new 14 yen bill by Eiichi Shibusawa. do.Saitama Institute of Technology will provide a large self-driving bus (Hino Rainbow, 7m long) and provide technical support for its operation.

In order to solve transportation issues such as the shortage of drivers, Fukaya City has partnered with seven businesses including Saitama Institute of Technology in June 2023 to introduce "local production for local consumption" autonomous driving technology into the city's public transportation system. Fukaya Autonomous Driving Implementation Consortium was formed. We are the only company in Saitama prefecture to be selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's ``FY6 Regional Public Transportation Securing, Maintenance and Improvement Project Subsidy (Autonomous Driving Demonstration Research Project),'' and we are working toward achieving Level 7 autonomous driving. .

This time, with the cooperation of Aisan Technology and other consortium members, we will use a large self-driving bus researched and developed by Saitama Institute of Technology. We will conduct a demonstration test operation on public roads at a speed below the legal speed of 2 km/h.The route is approximately 60km, starting and ending at the Shibusawa Eiichi Memorial Museum.

The test drive event will seek participants from elementary school students and older (elementary school students must be accompanied by a parent) to promote understanding of autonomous driving.Test rides are free and a lottery system is available for pre-registration.The application period is from Friday, December 2023st to Monday, December 12th, 1, and applications must be postmarked on that day.Application methods are postcard or Fukaya City Smart Application (electronic application).
