Nagoya University has established a local subsidiary, ``NAGOYA UNIVERSITY GLOBAL CAMPUS LTD'' in Singapore.Starting from Japan's national universities, we will strengthen our bases in Asia, support the overseas expansion of startup companies from Nagoya University, and further promote collaboration with Asian universities and companies.
According to Nagoya University, the local subsidiary was established on November 11nd.Nagoya University Vice Presidents Kazuya Takeda and Homi Mizutani are among the board members.In addition to helping Nagoya University students participate in entrepreneurship education programs and new programs at the National University of Singapore, a strategic partner university of Nagoya University, the project will also plan internships in Singapore.
Nagoya University and the National University of Singapore have already seen an increase in mutual visits between faculty and staff due to joint research and exchanges, and the two will consider establishing research bases in both countries.Furthermore, in addition to helping Nagoya University enter into contracts and joint research with Singaporean universities and companies, it will also support startup companies originating from Nagoya University to operate in Singapore.
In June, Nagoya University set up a joint booth with Aichi Prefecture at a technology-related exhibition held in Singapore, where 6 startup companies from Nagoya University pitched their products to companies in Asia and elsewhere.
It was the only Japanese university to participate in a technology-related exhibition held in Singapore in November, and is supporting the expansion of startup companies from Nagoya University into Asia, and its local subsidiary will play a role in promoting these activities.
