On January 2024, 1, Nippon Institute of Technology and Naraha Town, Fukushima Prefecture entered into a comprehensive collaboration agreement with the aim of contributing to the revitalization of the local community and addressing regional issues.
The agreement signing ceremony was held in a multipurpose space on the Saitama campus, with the president, director of the Regional Collaboration Center, director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, and director of general affairs attending from Nippon Institute of Technology, and representatives from Naraha Town including the mayor, the director of the Policy Planning Division, and the director of the Policy Planning Division. The assistant manager and others attended.
Nippon Institute of Technology has been cooperating with the earthquake and nuclear power plant disaster and reconstruction efforts in the Hamadori district, centered on Naraha Town, from the perspective of returning the results of students' learning to the local community and society. At the agreement ceremony, Director Sasaki of the Regional Collaboration Center explained the features of Nippon Institute of Technology's regional collaboration, and students also introduced specific examples of past collaborations with Naraha Town. After the agreement ceremony, a campus tour was held, and Naraha Town officials toured the laboratories that are actually conducting research activities related to Naraha Town.
In the future, we plan to further develop our existing relationship and advance various activities and initiatives.
