In April 2025, Tokushima Bunri University will relocate its Kagawa Campus in Shido, Sanuki City, Kagawa Prefecture to the Takamatsu Station Campus, which is currently under construction north of JR Takamatsu Station in Hamanocho, Takamatsu City. In addition to being expected to have an effect on securing future students, it is also likely to contribute to creating a lively atmosphere in front of Takamatsu Station.

The Takamatsu Station Campus is located on approximately 6,350 square meters of land adjacent to the north side of Takamatsu Station that was purchased from JR Shikoku and has 1 floors above ground and one floor underground. It houses the classrooms, laboratories, and libraries of four faculties, nine departments, and three graduate schools on the Kagawa campus, including the Faculty of Letters, Faculty of Science and Engineering, and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Students enrolled at the Kagawa campus who live alone in Sanuki City will receive a full allowance for commuting to Takamatsu Station and Takamatsu-Kotohira Electric Railway Takamatsu-Chikko Station. The payment period will be three years until the end of 2024 for undergraduate students who entered the Kagawa campus in April 4, and five years until 2026 for Kagawa Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. By relocating its campus to Takamatsu Station, Tokushima Bunri University will be within an hour of Okayama City, and expects to attract students from outside Shikoku.

In Takamatsu City, the Sunport area on the north side of Takamatsu Station continues to undergo a rush of redevelopment, including public facilities and hotels. However, it is located far from central urban areas such as Marugame Town, and increasing the liveliness around Takamatsu Station, which is located in the middle, has become an issue. The gathering of around 1,500 students, faculty and staff at the Takamatsu Station campus is expected to revitalize the area.

The number of full-scale campuses being built in front of or near stations is increasing as universities move back to urban centers. In 2017, Osaka Institute of Technology established a Umeda campus near Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station in Kita Ward, Osaka City, Osaka University of Economics and Law established a campus near Kintetsu Yao Station in Yao City, Osaka Prefecture, and Osaka Seikei University opened a campus in Higashiyodogawa Ward, Osaka City. Hankyu Aikawa Station, Kanto Gakuin University has opened a campus near JR Kannai Station in Naka Ward, Yokohama City, and Kyoto City University of Arts has opened a campus near JR Kyoto Station in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City.
