At the board of directors meeting held on March 2024, 3, the Seinan Jogakuin Educational Corporation decided to suspend student recruitment for the Seinan Jogakuin University Junior College Division from 21 onwards.

Seinan Jogakuin University Junior College was established at the same time as the junior college system under the School Education Act of 1922, following in the footsteps of Seinan Jogakuin High School for Girls (5-year course), which was founded in 1950. Since then, it has played a major role in promoting higher education for women and as a place for practical vocational education. Based on the school's founding spirit of ``Kan-on Hoshi,'' we aim to provide girls with a high level of education based on Christianity, as well as provide them with specialized education necessary for daily life, and to develop them into good members of society. With this purpose, we have cultivated talented human resources. More than 3 graduates are active in various locations.

With the number of applicants to junior colleges decreasing sharply nationwide due to recent social changes such as a decline in the 18-year-old population and a preference for four-year universities, Seinan Jogakuin is carefully considering the future of its junior college division. As a result of repeated consideration, we have decided to stop recruiting students from 4 onwards, with the final intake in 2024.

We will continue to do our best to provide education and career support for all current students, including those enrolled in 2024, and we will also do our best to ensure that there are no hindrances to the procedures for issuing certificates after graduation and the activities of the Seinan Jogakuin Alumni Association. We will establish a system that does not exist.

Furthermore, the mission of training childcare workers based on the philosophy of Christian childcare, which has been carried out by the Junior College Division's Childcare Department, and the achievements it has built up to date, will be inherited by Seinan Jogakuin University's field of early childhood education and childcare. We will continue to respond to social demands for childcare worker training.

There are 4 junior colleges in Fukuoka Prefecture in Kitakyushu City, 9 in Fukuoka City, 2 in Dazaifu City, and 1 each in Chikugo City and Iizuka City. Three junior colleges, including Seinan Jogakuin University Junior College, will stop recruiting students from 2025.
