At the international competition to build a sustainable city on Mars held in the United States, the space architecture circle TNL, which is organized by Japanese university students such as Tokyo University of Science, Nihon University, and Tohoku University, came in second. It was praised for designing a facility where you can enjoy a snowball fight on Mars.

According to Tohoku University and others, the international competition is based in California, USA, and has been held every year since 2016 by Mars City Design, which works with the cooperation of NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA). And this year's theme is Mars Sports. TNL has designed a stadium for the snowball fight, a sport that originated in Japan, on Mars.

Unlike the snow on Earth, it is snowing on dry ice in the polar regions of Mars. For this reason, TNL has proposed a facility where snowball fights can be held by taking advantage of the property of dry ice to sublimate from solid to gas.

TNL broke through the 1st and 2nd majors and was selected as a finalist equivalent to the Best Five, and after a final screening such as a presentation at the University of Houston in Texas, USA, was brilliantly selected as the 2nd place.

reference:[Tohoku University] The team to which Ryohei Kobayashi (4th year, Faculty of Engineering) and Okawa Tanaka (2nd year) belonged won the 2nd place in the international competition.
