Why is the Faculty of Psychology now?
In the new faculty, we plan to add a new specialized area to the current Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities, and increase the capacity by 10 people. In preparing for the establishment of the new faculty, we have accumulated a wide variety of high-quality research results that have been accumulated under the guidance of prominent teachers in a wide range of fields such as basic psychology and clinical psychology for many years. A systematic curriculum has become a major force.
When I became an undergraduate, I was strongly conscious of the evolution of "Psychology that can contribute to the real world" supported by such traditions, as a concrete result of cultivating business skills through learning specialized subjects. It is to appeal. So far, we have set the educational goal of the department as "cultivating people who have acquired" psychology as a practical culture "", but that alone may not be enough to convey our message.Psychology students are strong in employment and are highly evaluated by graduates in the workplace, but they have not yet dispelled public misunderstandings about psychology.
Therefore, I thought that under the new undergraduate system, we should set more specific and clear educational goals and clearly set the flag.Of course, with this undergraduate program, most of the applicants for the psychology department are also aspiring to the psychology department at other universities, that is, there is support and expectations from the examinees who have a clear sense of purpose for learning psychology. The fact that it is exceptionally expensive is also greatly boosted.
The catchphrase of the new faculty is "Connecting with society and opening the future."We hope that you will not only utilize your psychological expertise and the background and qualities cultivated in practical training in the real world, but also utilize it in your career development and in opening up your own future. It can be rephrased as "professional independence, that is, aiming to develop graduates who are strong in employment and strong in acquiring qualifications."
We want to train firstly general professionals who can utilize the specialized knowledge of psychology, and secondly professional professionals who can play an active role in the medical, welfare, and education fields. We will continue to develop human resources in collaboration with our graduate school so that those who aim for the latter can go on to graduate school and acquire specialized qualifications such as clinical psychologists and eventually certified public psychologists.
