In the new department, we will prepare "Water Engineering", "Ground Engineering", "Urban Environmental Studies", "Civil Engineering Materials", and "Civil Engineering Structures", which are specialized fields of civil engineering [see the figure below].Civil engineering is an academic discipline and technology that aims to solve social issues, and with the recognition that it is comprehensive engineering, we will learn the basics of each specialized field as widely as possible in the first and second years. We will actively incorporate the latest digital technologies related to AI, data science, robots, drones, etc., and aim to train next-generation civil engineers who can master them.
In addition, we will also focus on practical learning in the field of Shizuoka Prefecture.The symbol of this is the "project subject" that starts from the first year.Students will study across disciplines with specific themes such as disaster prevention / mitigation and infrastructure development.We combine a variety of learning such as classroom lectures, fieldwork, exercises, experiments, and lecture participation by practitioners who are active on the front lines.

The employment record of our university is ranked high every year in the whole country, and the actual employment rate (number of employment ÷ (graduates-advanced students)) of our university in 2019 is 97.0%, which is the XNUMXth place in the whole country among engineering universities.
