Utilizing raw data unique to a technical university,
Establishment of the Faculty of Management Information for research and analysis
“As an engineering university, we have collaborated with medical institutions, local governments, agricultural cooperatives, and manufacturers, mainly in the Hokuriku region. is the greatest attraction of studying at our university.”
That's what Professor Noboru Babaguchi, currently in charge of the Department of Management Information, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, said.
For example, in 2019, the university opened the "AI & IoT Center" for full-scale industry-academia collaboration and research with the aim of promoting medical-engineering collaboration and industrial DX research. At the center, we are working to create new value by combining satellite data and aerial images taken by drones with IoT and social data and performing AI analysis.
In 2023, a parabolic antenna with a diameter of 13.5 meters will be installed on the Awara Campus. Through joint research with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency), plans are also underway to start a demonstration experiment as a satellite ground station that communicates with space probes flying in lunar orbit.
