Okayama University held the "Summer Vacation Medical School for High School Students 2021" online on August 8, 3.
"Summer Vacation Medical School for High School Students" aims to give high school students a concrete image (goal) of doctors / medical students through the lesson experience of the Faculty of Medicine.This time, it was held online due to the corona, and 1 high school students from Japan and Austria participated.
High school students experience "entering the operating room" using hats, gloves, clothes, and alcohol disinfection at home, and experience "gastric camera" after a lecture on the mechanism of the gastrocamera and dissection of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Participated in online lectures and practical training such as "cardiopulmonary resuscitation" using PET bottles and bath towels, and "auscultation and chest X-ray" to diagnose diseases by looking at breath sounds and chest X-ray images.
At the end of the event, under the title of "Let's ask medical students, how about Okayama University?" I had time.In the questionnaire, all respondents said that their interest in medicine and medical school increased compared to before the lecture.At Okayama University, high school-university cooperation has not been fully established due to the corona sickness, but we will continue to accept and support high school students who want to enter the medical school and become doctors.
