Students from the Meiji University Faculty of Political Economy and Economics Nishimura Ya Seminar cooperated with the 6th Kawajima Town Comprehensive Promotion Plan formulated by Kawajima Town, Saitama Prefecture, and the results of joint research between Kawajima Town and Nishimura Seminar that had been continued for two years were included. ..
According to Meiji University, the comprehensive promotion plan sets the direction of the town for the next 10 years and has been outsourced to a private consultant company. However, this time, the town staff decided to make the plan by themselves, and asked Nishimura Seminar to cooperate in the form of joint research in order to incorporate the opinions of young people into the plan.
The students of Nishimura Seminar helped with the formulation work in both 2020 and 2021, and conducted an online interview survey with Tajimi City Hall in Gifu Prefecture by themselves. In addition, he proposed what Kawajima Town should look like in 2040 from the perspective of students, such as the realization of a society that utilizes vacant houses and sustainable agriculture, and the content of the proposal was included in the comprehensive promotion plan.
In the comprehensive promotion plan entrusted to a consultant company, the problem that the town staff could not grasp the process of formulating the plan was found. For this reason, Nishimura Seminar proposed the optimal progress management method for steadily implementing the plan while instilling it in each town employee. In response to this, Kawajima Town is in the process of improving the progress management of the plan.
