Kitasato University and Tokyo City University have signed a partnership agreement to promote academic research and student, faculty and staff exchanges.Aiming for further development of both schools through mutual cooperation, we will contribute to the promotion of science and industry in Japan as well as human resource development.
According to the Kitasato Institute, collaboration items include academic research, student exchanges, faculty and staff exchanges, development of local communities, and collaboration with domestic and overseas institutions.At the agreement signing ceremony held at Kitasato University, Kitasato University President Koko Shimabukuro and Tokyo City University President Chihisa Miki attended and signed the agreement.
Founded in 1962, Kitasato University is a comprehensive university of life sciences whose founder is Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, known as the "Father of Modern Japanese Medicine."With campuses in Minato Ward, Tokyo, Minami Ward, Sagamihara City, and Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, about 8 students are studying in eight faculties, including the School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy, and School of Science.
The predecessor of Tokyo City University was Musashi Higher Technical School, which was founded in 1929. In 1949, the university was renamed Musashi Institute of Technology, and in 2009 it changed its name to Tokyo City University.It has campuses in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, Asao Ward, Kawasaki City, and Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City.
