The Chiba University Environmental ISO Student Committee and Keiyo Bank, Ltd. have been implementing an eco project* to achieve the SDGs since FY2017.As part of this, we have created a pamphlet and video to raise awareness of "earthquake disaster prevention" and "frailty prevention", and the video will be broadcast at Keiyo Bank branches from Tuesday, June 2023, 6, Wednesday, June 20. Started handing out pamphlets.

In the near future, Chiba Prefecture is expected to suffer serious damage from an earthquake directly hitting the capital and an earthquake along the Sagami Trough, and an earthquake directly hitting the Tokyo metropolitan area is expected to cause even greater damage than the Great East Japan Earthquake. In addition, the elderly population in Japan is increasing more and more, and it is expected that in 2065, 1.3 young people will have to support one elderly person. “Frailty” refers to a condition in which physical and mental function declines with age, social ties weaken, and the likelihood of requiring nursing care or becoming bedridden increases.Early detection of frailty and proper treatment and prevention are important in modern society, where the number of elderly people is increasing, because if countermeasures are taken early, the condition can be restored to its original state of health.

Against the backdrop of such a social situation, students created a pamphlet and video about "earthquake disaster prevention" and "frailty prevention," in which preparation and prevention are very important. bottom. Two types of pamphlets, "earthquake disaster prevention" and "frailty prevention," were designed, written, and edited by students, and completed under the supervision of experts, with 2 copies each. The "Earthquake Disaster Prevention" pamphlet carefully introduces the types of earthquakes in Chiba Prefecture and around Chiba City, their risks, and countermeasures before and after an earthquake. In the "Frailty Prevention" pamphlet, in addition to explaining frailty and how to prevent it, we also introduce recommended spots in Chiba Prefecture selected by university students so that seniors can enjoy going out.

The students also created a few-minute video introducing the contents of the "Earthquake Preparedness" and "Frailty Prevention" pamphlets. It is a video that has been devised such as asking questions in a quiz format and showing students actually wearing goods.

Ms. Honoka Suzuki, the student leader who was in charge of planning, said, "Prevention of frailty and earthquake disaster prevention are seemingly unrelated topics, but by narrowing down the target to seniors, we were able to find common ground. The pamphlet was a very valuable experience for me, as I learned a lot about "frailty and earthquakes from the perspective of seniors", which I hadn't had the opportunity to think about before. As for the video, each member thought about what kind of design would be effective and created it, so when it was completed, I felt a sense of accomplishment.I would be happy if as many people as possible could see it. ' commented.
