2024年3月16日、昭和女子大学では、国際学部の「ダブル・ディグリー・プログラム」参加学生13名が昭和女子大学を卒業し、プログラムを修了し2大学の学位を取得した。ダブル・ディグリー取得者は2023年度9月修了者と合わせると20名、2017年からのべ93名になる。
The "Double Degree Program" is a three-year program at Showa Women's University, with five overseas partner universities (Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China; Seoul Women's University, South Korea; Sookmyung Women's University, South Korea; Temple University Japan Campus, America; academic year 3). Students will study for two years at the University of Queensland (Australia). Students who wish to participate will take classes for the program from the first semester of their first year, and after meeting standards for grades and language proficiency, they will study abroad at partner universities overseas. The students receive financial support, such as having their tuition fees covered by their tuition at Showa Women's University while studying abroad, providing many students with a global learning environment.
This program goes beyond simply acquiring language skills; students take the same classes as local students and learn specialized fields such as culture, history, and society, with the premise that they have advanced language skills. In addition, by learning collaboratively with a variety of local people, students will develop the mental strength and communication skills necessary to succeed in the international field in the future.
