The Doshisha University Rugby Club and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have signed a memorandum of understanding on a university collaboration project regarding the dispatch of JICA overseas cooperation teams with the aim of developing rugby in India and fostering the healthy development of young people through it.  Doshisha University, which aims to develop human resources through sports under the educational philosophy of internationalism, has been discussing with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) about the possibility of university cooperation regarding international cooperation since September 2017. It was concluded.In the future, about 9 members (or graduates) of Doshisha University rugby club will be appointed for 10 years from 2019 for the purpose of promoting and promoting rugby in India, sound development of young people, and human resources development in the field of international cooperation of the university. It was decided to be dispatched to the site as a JICA overseas cooperation team for about one month every year.

 The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Kyoko Nishino, Director of JICA Kansai, Mr. Masahiro Ueda, Director of Doshisha University Student Support Center, and Mr. Yukuji Okita, Director of Doshisha University Athletic Association Rugby Department.After signing the memorandum, Director Okita expressed his motivation to make an international contribution not only to rugby but also to the entire Doshisha University Athletic Association.
