At Josai International University, we view health, medical care, and welfare as a single team, and provide cross-disciplinary education. From April 2025, we will take this one step further and establish a new Faculty of Health Sciences (tentative name) that will integrate the Department of Nursing, Department of Physical Therapy, Department of Medical Pharmacy, and Department of General Welfare (currently planned).
At Japanese universities, it is common for students to choose their specialty upon admission, making it difficult to gain an understanding of other specialized fields. In order to avoid becoming an international university, Josai International University is the first in the country to adopt global standards and has established the Faculty of Health Sciences (tentative name), which integrates the Department of Nursing, Department of Physical Therapy, Department of Medical Pharmacy, and Department of Comprehensive Welfare. )" has been newly installed.
At health and medical universities overseas, it is common for students to receive basic education in their first year, and then choose their own specialty. This is also the case at universities in Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and recently China, and this is based on the value of team medical care formed by understanding each specialized field.
The Faculty of Health Sciences (tentative name) does not limit itself to one specialized field, but develops problem-solving skills from a wide range of perspectives, from local health, medical care, and welfare to cutting-edge medical care, and approaches collaboratively with other specialized fields. We aim to develop capable and professional human resources. Toward this end, we are implementing unique multidisciplinary collaborative education in which specialized fields of health, medical care, and welfare work together, a wide range of general education subjects that take advantage of the strengths of a comprehensive university, and overseas team medical care that incorporates the experience of international universities. We plan to proactively provide training to learn about this, as well as health, medical, and welfare DX education that is essential for team medical care.
