On April 2018, 4, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology will conclude a joint research agreement with the Tokyo Metropolitan Koishikawa Secondary Education School for integrated middle and high school education. From April, it has been decided that 4th graders (4nd year high school students) of Koishikawa Secondary School will start joint research on slime molds (myxogastria) at the International Center for Animal Infectious Diseases and Epidemics, Faculty of Agriculture.
According to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the signing ceremony of the agreement will be held on the 4th at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Headquarters Administration Building in Harumi-cho, Fuchu City, Tokyo, and officials from both schools will sign the agreement.What is included in the agreement

From April, Ms. Mana Masui, a fifth-year student at Koishikawa Secondary Education School, will start joint research with Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and Ms. Masui has received the Prime Minister's Award from the Japan Student Science Award for her slime mold research. In addition, there is a book "The world is full of slime molds" (published by Asahi Publishing Co., Ltd.).
The main purpose of this collaboration agreement is to enable high school students with outstanding talents to undertake high-level research by utilizing the latest research equipment of the university while enrolled in high school.There is also the aim of enhancing support for high school students who are aiming for a career in science and engineering by closely coordinating the teachers of both schools who provide guidance.
Koishikawa Secondary Education School was reborn in 1918 as an integrated middle and high school from Tokyo Prefectural Fifth Junior High School, which was founded in 2006, through Tokyo Metropolitan Koishikawa High School.Koishikawa was designated as a Super Science High School by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology when he was in high school.
