Kanagawa University will open a new faculty "Faculty of Cross-Cultural and Japanese Studies" in April 2020.
The Faculty of International Japanese Studies consists of three departments, "International Cultural Exchange Department", "Japanese Cultural Studies Department", and "History and Folklore Department". With "communication" as the keyword, we aim to develop human resources who have deep expertise and a wide range of cultures and will serve as a bridge between the world, Japan, and the region.The school location is Yokohama Campus, but in April 3, it will be relocated to the "Minato Mirai Campus" which will be opened in the Minato Mirai 2021 district of the international city of Yokohama. In addition to the Faculty of International Japanese Studies, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of Business Administration will also be gathered at the Minatomirai Campus.
The recruitment methods for students are recommendation entrance exams, stipend student exams, university entrance exam center exam use entrance exams, and general entrance exams.The recruitment capacity is "170 students from the Department of International Cultural Exchange", "60 students from the Department of Japanese Culture", and "70 students from the Department of History and Folklore".In addition, the Faculty of International Japanese Studies will suspend the recruitment of students from the Faculty of Foreign Studies, Department of International Cultural Exchange after 2020, in order to progressively reorganize and establish the existing educational program of the Faculty of Foreign Studies, Department of International Cultural Exchange.
